“Rise and shine sweet pee!” the sound of my mom waking me up at 5:30 in the morning. Well, at least she had a good reason. WE ARE GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!!!!! I was so happy and half asleep. Running around the house, getting the suit cases, packing up all of our things, saying good - bye. I couldn’t believe it.
So here we are at my house on a warm summer day and my mom and dad call me upstairs. I go upstairs and they show me a picture of a place. I asked them, “Where is that?” Of course I didn’t know because they didn’t tell me anything about going to Disney yet, and then that is when it all spilled out, “We’re going to Disney!” I was so happy I nearly peed my pants. There was no other time in my life that I was so happy!
Time went on and we had all of our Disney plans set. Flights, dinner reservations, hotels, theme parks, and where we would sleep so that we didn’t have to wake up even earlier. This was going to be the best vacation ever!
So here we are at the airport and we know other people that are going at the same time as us. We saw them at the airport for a little and we had some breakfast. All that I had was an apple and some chocolate milk. Then we had to get into the security line. It would seem like that line would take a while, but time flew by so fast that it didn’t really matter. All that they do for security is make you take off anything metal or purse or bag and put it in a basket. That thing goes through a little assembly line and you go through a little arch thing that beeps if you have anything metal still on you.
Then after security you are free to do anything on the other side which is mostly getting your tickets and waiting for your plane to board. What my family does in that time is go to the bathroom and I play my DS after the bathroom. Then at about 7:45 our plane started boarding. We were with Air Tran so they are pretty much on time. To get on the plane they have to scan your ticket and then you are free to the plane. When you get in the plane you have to find your seat. The go in order from a1 2 3 b1 2 3 c1 2 3 d123 e1 2 3 f1 2 3 g1 2 3 and so on. In the front and the back are bathrooms, but trust me you do not what so ever want to go in those bathrooms. They are small, stinky(especially after someone who takes a dump in those small things), and not very good doors. That’s why we always go at the airport.
The plane was just about to take off. It was all fueled up and everything, so the pilot said, “Fasten you seat belts.” Then the plane went up up up up up up up and before we knew it we were flying high in the sky. Then after about a half-an-hour you can unbuckle and move around in the plane. Not like having a party move around like having to go to the bathroom move around. What I do on the plane is before you leave to go somewhere pack a bag full of electronics or something that you like to do. I play on those on the plane, and usually you get a beverage from the cart that comes around. Most of the time on the plane I watch a movie, read a book, listen to music, and do a word search. Sometimes I even bring my DS. On the plane isn’t as bad as some people make it sound. The only bad part is when your ears pop because of the pressure change. To solve that my dad usually gives me gum or you can plug your nose and blow. Those because you chooing and you blowing.
Hurray! We finally landed and the airport is amazing! We get off the plane and of course have something to eat. Being a kid, I had Burger King. Then we looked at some of the stores. There was a crocks, borders, etc. At Borders I got the bob book, Other Wise Known as Sheila the Great. We went to the bathroom while my dad got in line for our bus tickets to our resort. It was really hot there so in the bathroom I changed into shorts. By the time we got out the bathroom my dad was the next in line. When he was done we had to call my aunt because she wanted to know when we landed. Then we got into our bus line so we knew what bus to go on. Our resort was the Caribbean Beach Resort. We got in the line that said Caribbean Beach Resort. Our turn on the bus was in almost 45 minutes. That actually isn’t that bad after being on a plane for 2 and a half hours.
We finally got to our hotel and was dropped off at the lobby. We checked in what room was ours we got to the part of the resort that we were staying at. It was a long walk the hotel room. We found it though. We got all of our carry-on situated and we went to go look around. The food court was amazing. You would choose what you wanted and they decorated the inside like you were outside. When you walked in you would walk past the fancy restraint. Then you walk in a little arch and choose what little stand that you want. Order your food and you get a free drink and desert. Then you go to the checkout line and pay for you food. After the checkout line there is soda, hot chocolate, coffee, and sauces. You sit down and eat then when you’re done you can go to the gift shop. They have an out gift shop that is out side the regular gift shop. We looked in there for a little while my dad got our mugs. There was so many things in the gift shop. There was a towel, sweatshirt, goggles, etc.
Then we went to downtown Disney there is really nothing there besides shops. We looked in the biggest store in Disney. It was so fun there.
The next day I swam and we went to Hollywood studios. We saw my cousin’s there so it was really fun. There was also some thing that I really liked. In Disney they have pins that you trade and I was on my mission to find the trading pins.
We were there longer, but I forgot. Sorry On the way home before the plane took off even I read a whole book
When I got home I told everyone about the Disney trip. http://www.wordle.net/show/wrdl/3428370/black_cowboy%2C_wild_horses_spelling_words_wordlethe journey to lost land.wp3.wmv Leaving Lincoln By Abbie Groppe Adios Lincoln! I had so much fun at Lincoln elementary school. There are a lot of things that I am going to miss. I am going to miss all of the teachers. I remember going to summer school at central and thinking how confusing it is. All the hallways, only one minute between classes, 1 hour for each class. SO DIFFERENT!!!! I remember that when I was 3 ,not even in kindergarten yet, I was already breaking 1 rule. I was running in the hallways!!!! Going into teachers’ classrooms, learning, and getting supplies. Then life went on and now I’m about to leave Lincoln. Of course not forever. I will still step foot in this school no matter how hard I try not to. For goodness sakes, my mom works at Lincoln. I just won’t have any teachers here. Some of the things I am going to miss are all of the same teachers here in my grade (only 4), for goodness sakes I will probably have 8 teachers at the middle school. At Lincoln there is so many different things then at central, but if I named them all that would waste all of the ink in the printer. One thing is that you are with the same class of kids all day at Lincoln. The only time that I don’t is for math. Another thing is that I don’t have far to 8 different teachers in a day. I only have 2. In elementary school you get a desk. A desk is much better because then you can keep track of your things better. In elementary school you get a small assignment notebook that you can fit in your take home folder. At middle school there are a lot of different things then at Lincoln. One thing is you have a lot of hallways. There is a hallway for every subject. In middle school you get different punishments. You get a warning and then a detention. When you are in middle school you have 8 different teachers. You also have a choice of instrument and choir. Some of the things that are the same are you have the same old friends that went to central. You use the same supplies and specials. You also have different teachers. That is my compare and contrast about Lincoln and central. J
